Cosmic Irony Synopsis

A vow is a generational promise. It signifies deeper, long-term goals, and nothing is more tragic than when a vow is broken. Our protagonist’s vow, for example, was forged from heartbreak, trauma, and the fear of disappointment.

Pyro Valen, a young scientist, vows to his father that he will redeem his image in the family lineage. Not only will he win the grand science fair, but he will be the greatest Valen to ever live. He needs to prove that his loss ten years ago was just a fluke, and that things will be different this time.

And it would be different this time just not in the way he expected.

On what was supposed to be a peaceful night, a meteor cracks the sky and brings down an artifact from another dimension. Pyro is greeted by a being who presents itself as an angel of destiny, but in truth, it deceives him. It curses Pyro with a demonic weapon—just one of many that plunged the earth into an apocalyptic age 1,000 years ago, ended only by a great warrior known in folklore as the Lightbringer.

This is the latest attempt to plunge the world into darkness. But what the being didn’t account for is Pyro’s extreme mental control. He suppresses the artifact, refusing to let it overcome him. However, this stubbornness is slowly killing him. The artifact needs instability to generate Kaus energy, and by suppressing it, Pyro is letting it decay his own body from the inside out.

The meteor crack also grabs the attention of the military, especially General Crisis. Alerted by the event, he sends out Sable, the government’s newest super-soldier experiment. Sable’s only goal is to interrogate—and possibly kill—anybody who saw the event that night. General Crisis cannot have his perfect image of control tarnished.

Toying with the situation, Sable murders Pyro’s grandparents, deeply enraging Pyro’s father. Desperate to redeem himself and stop the bloodshed, Pyro brings himself face-to-face with Sable. At first, it is a one-sided beatdown. But pushed to the absolute edge, Pyro finally gives in. He unleashes the Kaus energy and violently kills Sable. The overwhelming power surge tears a massive crack in the sky, opening a wormhole to the demon dimension—and the shockwave wakes up the hibernating ancient warrior.   This sets the stage for Act Two
